The endowment is created by contributing members of AKATAKYIE USA to fund critical projects for academic excellence at Opoku Ware School (OWASS) in Kumasi, Ghana.

Opoku Ware School was founded on the traditions and the benevolence of the Catholic Church and the Spirit of the Asante Dynasty as seen through the life, leadership and bravery of Otumfuo Opoku Ware I. The character of her alumni and students is shaped by leadership, integrity, tradition, excellence, relevance, audacity, camaraderie and youthfulness. As we look into the future, we want to see this great school blossom into a fruitful tree under whose shade many will take shelter and be satisfied with her nourishment and guidance. This is the high calling of all her alumni, a great privilege with responsibility to participate in the process of making it happen!! The National Executives and the Board of Trustees therefore call on all the members of AKATAKYIE USA to invest in the future of our alma mater to make her strong, effective and prosperous Leaving a LEGACY with IMPACT on future generations.
